All major areas of concentration in Comparative Studies require a total of 60 credits, including at least one “foundation course” in the area of concentration; remaining courses fulfill interdisciplinary and distribution requirements. All Comparative Studies students should work with their advisors to develop a strong, coherent, individualized program.

The concentration in Science Studies requires the following:

Distribution requirement (Electives) (20 credit hours):

Courses are to be chosen from Comparative Studies and other departments to provide focus in a particular area, such as medicine and health or science, technology, and the arts. Additional Comparative Studies courses may also partially fulfill this requirement. No more than 10 credits at the 200-level may count toward the Distribution Requirement.
