Nikoo is a PhD student in Comparative Studies at The Ohio State University. With an academic background in engineering and literary studies, she brings both technical and humanistic perspectives to her work. She is broadly interested in how questions of gender, identity, and cultural belonging take shape through technologies, especially in digital and urban spaces.

Her work examines how digital platforms mediate gendered interactions and contribute to the forming and reforming of identity. Her ongoing research explores the intersections of gender, technology, and cultural memory, with a focus on how digital environments sustain, transform, and challenge political and affective life. She is particularly attentive to the ways political memory and affect circulate across online spaces, shaping both individual experiences and collective imaginaries.

In previous projects, she has studied dating apps and the dynamics of gender within them, as well as the affective aftermath of feminist movements and their digital traces. She has also published book reviews in Information, Communication & Society here and in Feminist Media Studies here.
