Bruce Lincoln: Comparison as Method
Our first event in the series on "Comparison as Method" will be a panel discussion with Bruce Lincoln, Caroline E. Haskell Distinguished Service Professor of the History of Religions in the Divinity School, University of Chicago. We will read his brief essay "Theses on Comparison" beforehand and then hear responses from our own Dorry Noyes (Comparative Studies and English), Tom Kasulis (Comparative Studies) and Fritz Graf (Classics), followed by a counter-response by Lincoln and open discussion for everyone. Anyone who would like a copy of Dr. Lincoln's article "Theses on Comparison" before the event should contact Hugh Urban.
