Come to celebrate Mark Bender's promotion to full Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences! Chair of the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures and CFS Associate, Bender is a leading scholar of the oral traditions and minority literatures of western China. More recently he has been exploring themes of place and environment across the poetries of "Zomia," the mountainous region that extends from Indochina into Tibet and Afghanistan.
