Through examining selected writings by two very different 19th century Tibetan Buddhist masters including the non-celibate female visionary Sera Khandro and the male monastic scholar Ju Mipam, this talk explores intersections between the ostensibly contradictory Vajrayāna Buddhist ideals of celibacy and religiously sanctioned forms of sexuality.
