Enrico Zammarchi defended his dissertation in November 2019, titled “My Style is Strictly Italo”: A History of Italian Hip-Hop; this work is the first project to look at Italy’s recent history through the lens of music and, more specifically, through the lens of hip-hop culture. He later completed an M.A. in Italian Studies at OSU. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Italian at Gonzaga University and has published articles on Italian hip-hop as well as contemporary literature. His work has appeared in Global Hip Hop Studies, Forum Italicum, and From the European South.
