Professor and Chair Barry Shank will be delivering the keynote address for the Unpopular Culture conference co-hosted by Amerika-Institut of Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich and Bayerisch-Amerika-Akademie on Oct 31. The title of the talk is "Music and War: The American Reception of Tinariwen and the Collapse of the Malian State."
