Congratulations, Dr. Paynter!
In Fall 2024, Eleanor Paynter will join the University of Oregon as Assistant Professor of Italian. The position is in Italian and Global Media, and Eleanor will teach in her home department of Romance Languages and within the School of Global Studies and Languages. Eleanor completed her PhD in Comparative Studies in 2020 and has since worked as a Postdoctoral Associate in Migrations at Cornell University, and at Brown University, where she is currently a Postdoctoral Associate in Italian Studies and with the Cogut Institute for the Humanities. These positions have given her the chance to develop new courses, public humanities projects, and her first book (Keep an eye out for it later this year! Emergency in Transit: Witnessing Migration in the Colonial Present, with the University of California Press). Congratulations Eleanor!
