Drs. Stephanie Aubry and Katherine Borland have received a Global Arts + Humanities Discovery Theme Field School Grant for the year 2021-2022, for a four day exploration of Ohio’s border politics, with visits to the Morrow County Correctional Center, the Fresh Mark Meat Processing Plant (site of the massive 2018 ICE Raid) Butler County Jail, INS offices, and solidarity and immigrant activists in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus, who are working on behalf of those who find themselves on the wrong side of the border. They will discuss the present experience of being undocumented in Ohio with immigrants, and trace the history of immigrant rights activism in Ohio from the 1980s to the present. The field school will take place over the fall break, if pandemic conditions allow. Otherwise, it will be offered during the spring term. 4-12 students are eligible to participate.

Congratulations to Drs. Stephanie Aubry and Katherine Borland!!
