Congratulations to Comparative Studies PhD candidate Eleanor Paynter, whose article recently appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books! Co-written with Nicole Miller, the article, "The White Readymade and the Black Mediterranean: Authoring 'Barca Nostra,'" considers how the European migrant crisis is brought into focus by the "Boca Nostra," a former Tunisian fishing boat, turned capsized migrant rescue vessel, turned art installation.
