Teaching Learning Conversation - Philosophy of Pedagogy

This event was a roundtable discussion on the purpose and power of education led by PhD student, Seth Josephson. We had conversations inspired by Freire, hooks, and others. We also discussed alternative perspectives to research, including those informed by experiences outside the university. Seth encouraged us to explore both Western and non-Western ideas, radical and institutional approaches, and contemporary and ancient figures or communities.

We explored the following questions:

What frames and guides our teaching?

What kind of becoming to we participate in when we teach and when we learn?

What narratives are so far absent from our conversations around pedagogy?
