On a warm August 27th evening, members of the Department of Comparative Studies gathered on the rooftop of The Crest to welcome in the new academic year. Two cohorts of graduate students who had practically only met behind masks or on the other side of virtual classroom screens were joined by returning graduate students, as well as department faculty, staff, and those who had completed graduate milestones. A huge round of thanks  goes to the wonderful logistics and culinary teams at The Crest, without whom this event wouldn't have been possible.

We're already looking forward to the next time we can safely gather together again!
